Product License Keys
What Are They
A product license key is a series of numbers and letters that is generated when you purchase our products. This key is used to connect the product which you install on your website with your account here, which allows you to receive automatic updates and support for your product.
Which Products Have License Keys
Currently, only some of our products require a license key. We are slowly transitioning to this new licensing system. The list below gives the current products that require license keys:
- Divi Events Calendar
- Divi Responsive Helper
- Divi Timer Pro
- Divi Social Sharing Buttons
- Divi Carousel Maker
- Divi Contact Form Helper
Finding Your License Keys
You can find your product license keys in several places:
- The order thank you page
- The order confirmation email
- Your Account area
You can copy the product license keys from any of these locations. As mentioned, you can always access your product license keys from your Account area on our website. Just go to the Orders tab and look for the button that says License Keys.

This will take you to the license management screen where you will see a list of any products that you have purchased that require a license. Here you will see the license keys next to each product which you can copy.
Once you have the license key active on a website, the status will change from unassigned to assigned and the active domain(s) will be listed.Â

After you copy the license key, simply go to your website where you have installed the product and paste it into the license key input field and click “Save.”
Activate Your Product License
When you install one of our licensed products, you will see a notice at the top of your WordPress Dashboard prompting you to activate your product license. The notice will look something like this:

Go ahead and click the link in the notice to enter your license key which will take you to the license activation page. Take note that if you want to access this page in the future you can do so by clicking the name of the product in the menu under WordPress>Settings>[Product Name].
On the license activation page you will see an input field to enter your license key. Find your license key (instructions below) and paste it into the license key input field and click “Save.”

Generating New License Keys
Depending on your order, you may be able to generate additional license keys for each product. This applies to the Annual Unlimited or the Lifetime Unlimited licenses. Those allow for “unlimited” license keys to be generated, which is useful if you want a separate license key per website or client.
NOTE: This would also apply if you purchased the Lifetime Single license and accidentally deleted it.
To generate a new license key, go to your account area to the License Manage screen as mentioned previously in this document. From there, look for the “Key Generator” near the bottom of the page.

Use the dropdown selector to choose your product. Notice that it will give the available products and will indicate the number of keys left to generate.
After making your selection, click the “Generate License Key” button and it will create a new key for you to use for that product.
Deactivating License Keys
There are two ways to deactivate a license key. This can be done from the website dashboard, or from your Account area here on our website.
Deactivate In Website
To deactivate a license key from the website where it is active, simply log into the WordPress dashboard and hover over the Settings menu on the left side. Look for the name of the plugin, and click it. This takes you to the license key page for the plugin. From there, you can click the deactivate button.

Deactivate From Your Account
To deactivate a license key from your account area, simply go to your Orders in the Account area. Click on the License Manage button. From this page, look for the license key that you want to delete and click the green “Deactivate” button.

Deleting License Keys
To delete a license key, simply go to your account area to the License Manage screen as mentioned previously in this document. From there, look for the license key that you want to delete and click the green “Delete” button.

License Key FAQ
Q. I see multiple license keys in my account for the same product. Which one should I use?
A. We had an issue with the system that for some customers it generated 3 or 4 license keys automatically. You can delete the extra ones.
Q. I have an unlimited license, but when I try to generate more keys it says I have 0 keys left. What is wrong?
A. Some customers will be affected by this due to a period of time when we overlooked having the number of keys set to unlimited. If you have an unlimited license and are not able to generate more keys, please send us an email and we will manually allow unlimited keys for your account. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Q. How does this work with a multisite?
A. A multisite is treated as one domain. The location you enter the license key will depend if you have the plugin network activated, or just active on selected subsites. If the plugin is network activated, you can enter the license key from the main network settings or any subsite. If the plugin is only active on one subsite for example, you would need to enter the license key from there.Â
Troubleshooting
License Key Already Activated Issue
Some users are facing this scenario:
You receive an update notification for one of the plugins, and after it successfully updates, you then see a notice at the top of your admin to add the license key. But you already had the license key added before the update. This is a false notice, and if you check your Account here it will show the key is still active. So when you add the key again, it gives this message:
There was a problem activating the license. License Key was already Successfully activated for [domainname.com]
UPDATE May 13, 2021 – we believe we have solved this!
How to solve it? Usually it can be solved easily by deactivating the license key from your account and then inputting the license key again. You can also try deleting the license completely and then generate a new one and try that.
License Key Expiration Issue
A handful of customers have reported that they receive an email stating that the license key has expired – prematurely, long before the actual expiration date. This is some strange bug, and is not supposed to happen (obviously). We are investigating this issue and will update this page when we have more information.
