1. Install The Divi Contact Form Helper Plugin

The first step to set up a honeypot field in the Divi Contact Form module is to install the Divi Contact Form Helper plugin. Hopefully by now, most of my weekly blog post readers already use the plugin or are members of our all-access Divi Adventure Club, but if not, you can check it out to learn more. The plugin adds tons of settings and features directly to the existing Contact Form module, which will be used for this tutorial to achieve the personalized success message.

2. Adjust The After Submission behavior Settings

Open the Divi Contact Form module settings to the After Submission Behavior toggle. Here you will see various settings related to the success message. Here, you can set up the behavior that you want to happen when someone submits a form. In our case, you would be using the Success Message, so verity if it enabled. If you are using the redirect features, be sure to allow enough time for the person to view the success message before redirecting.

3. Add Merge Tags To The Success Message

Divi has a feature called merge tags for their admin message, but does not have it for the success message. However, the Divi contact Form Helper adds this feature (along with the rich text editor) so that you can add merge tags to display data dynamically from the form. This means if you enter your name and email address in the form fields, the success message can include your actual name and email address. This also works for any form field, so you can even remind the person of which selections they made in the form. This kind of personalization is subtle, but very nice and professional. Here is an example:

On the frontend, you will see the actual values from the form.

We also add many custom merge tags as features in the plugin if needed.

Don’t forge that our plugin also has full design settings for the success message.
