I have been using the Divi Theme and Builder for sometime now. The 2 biggest cons I experienced are the length of time waiting to open, edit and save. Also, the Divi Library does not truly separate content and design layers. For example, you can save either a global library item or a standard item. If you insert a global library item onto a page you can not edit the text without editing the text on all instances. If you insert a standard item, that instance will be a unique instance; in other words, updating the standard source item in the library will not update the other instances. A better solution would be to create a master as a library item. If you want to update/change the design layer, do so in the library. If you want to update the text/content you should be able to do that per instance without that text/content edit impacting all other instances.

There is a lot of trial and error in setting up and applying the various theme builder templates. How best to proceed without impacting my website perhaps negatively. Use maintenance mode or should I use a child theme?

I’ve stayed away from a child theme to this point. My single website is fairly straightforward so didn’t seem to warrant a child theme to this point.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I am having trouble creating a custom page template for a custom Post type called Brands. I am using the Woocommerce Brands plugin.

I also purchased your Theme Builder course to hopefully learn what I’m missing. No success so far.

Issue: If I create a template for a Brand page, the Shop module displays a random list of products, not the unique Brand. Example without template: https://www.a-1vacuum.com/brand/ah-products/.

      Hi Ben,
Are you turning on the dynamic content toggle in the Shop module? That would be needed for any kind of taxonomy template, and will then show only products within that taxonomy.
